Brian Kendall grew up just outside of Detroit, Michigan, spending his summers along the Great Lakes, drawn to the surf, the beachgoers and the solitude. Studying architecture and business, Kendall graduated with a BA from University of Michigan in 1993 and moved to Los Angeles where he met and worked with photographers such as Herb Ritts, Melven Sokolysky and Cliff Watts. He shoots with both film and digital medium formats to create panoramic landscapes, finding the beauty of humankind, nature and the intersection of both. Creating an experience one can step into, showing our shared humanity and the emotions that connect us all are the basis of his work.
Kendall lives and works in Pasadena, CA, where you can find him chasing his four year old son around the house, dreaming of camping in the Pacific Northwest or planning his next beach shoot.
